Whitney Capps

Meet Whitney

Whitney Capps is a national speaker for ministries including Proverbs 31, Women of Joy, and LifeWay Women. She was a pioneer writer for the Bible app, First 5, with more than 1,000,000 downloads and users. Whitney's first book, Sick of Me, (B & H Publishers) and Bible study with video curriculum, We Over Me (LifeWay), were released in March of 2019. Additionally, she served her community as Teacher Leader for her local Bible Study Fellowship for several years.

She is the Co-Founder of Simple Seminary, an online learning platform that helps women know and love God’s Word. She is also co-founder of TruthCo. In 2024, Whitney and TruthCo co-founder, Russ Greer, launched a new podcast called “Theology and Other Fun Stuff,” where they talk about, believe it or not, theology and other fun stuff.

As a bible study geek, Whitney’s delight is to dig into God’s Word for profound yet practical truth. A communicator at heart, Whitney comes alive sharing those truths with any gal who will give her even a few minutes. In her former life, she served as Talent Acquisitions professional for the corporate office of Chick-fil-A.

This invaluable (and AMAZING) experience gave Whitney her love for helping women connect their passion with their purpose for the glory of God. A girly-girl living among all boys, Whitney, Chad, and their four sons, Cooper, Dylan, Ryder, and Tate, live just outside Atlanta, Georgia. Her house is wild, loud, and scented with her favorite candles and the not-so-favorite, occasional dirty sock.

Whitney is addicted to shoes, jewelry, guac, and Coke Zero and makes no apologies for any of them.

Speaking Topics

  • An honest self-evaluation reveals just how conflict-laden life can be. It’s even present in those places where peace is most sought after. From being over-committed and severely stressed this series challenges women to engage in the battle for their hearts and homes by surrendering control and finding biblical freedom.

  • Technology is great at making things easier and faster, but does that mean those things are necessarily better? When it comes to biblical friendship, “easy” and “fast” are not appropriate descriptions. This series challenges women unplug from busy schedules and plug in to one another.

  • God is good. He’s always been good. He’ll always be good. But, sometimes, it doesn’t feel like it. Sometimes, there are hurt feelings involved. The good news is that Scripture has answers for those times when it seems like prayers aren’t being answered and promises aren’t being kept.

  • If salvation is the beginning of a relationship with Jesus, sanctification is the journey believers are on for the rest of their lives. But spiritual maturity isn’t just something that happens individually. It’s also a concerted effort of the local community of faith. Sick of Me aims to encourage women toward living gospel-centered lives by unpacking important doctrines related to salvation.

  • This teaching focuses on spiritual dehydration and draws a parallel between the physical fatigue and strain caused by dehydration and our spiritual stamina when we are deprived of Christ’s living water. The ultimate goal: identify and long for the benefits of a regular encounter with the Living Water. The Scripture focus is on the story of the woman at the well.

  • Wouldn’t it be great if the people in the church understood the greater purpose of the church? We over Me highlights the letters to the churches of Revelation in an attempt to do just that. In many ways, this talk is what many pastors might avoid saying of the local church for fear of it sounding self-serving. The heartbeat of We over Me is to encourage women to do their part to prepare the church for the return of Christ.
